Agartala: July 26. The members of the Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC) were not detained. Since there are around 22 members in a group, they were asked to undergo COVID-19 test, said Superintendent of Police (SP), West Tripura- Manik Das.
“It was a part of routine check-up by the police. The 22 members of I-PAC were questioned and asked to undergo COVID-19 RT-PCR test. They were asked to stay in the hotel until the reports of the sample arrive,” Das said.
The official also said that since Covid restrictions are in force, around 22 outsiders are living together in a hotel and moving across the state. So, the police have enquired about I-PAC team members.
“The RT-PCR test was conducted and we are waiting for the test report, if reports are found negative then all of them will be allowed to move otherwise they will have to follow corona norms,” the official said.
